Adapted from the short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald—a literary landmark that all but defined the mores of 1920s Jazz Age youth—this PBS-produced short film stars the wonderfully idiosyncratic Shelley Duvall in one of her finest performances as Bernice, a shy young country girl who travels to the city to to visit her sophisticated flapper cousin (Veronica Cartwright) and winds up getting a crash course in the ways of modern womanhood.
