THE LAST PICTURE SHOW was based on author Larry McMurtry's recollections of his hometown of Archer City, Texas. After scouting other areas in Texas, director Peter Bogdanovich discovered that Archer City was, in fact, the perfect location for the film. Before production began, Bogdanovich shot some location footage, which is presented here without audio.
