Hanna Schygulla starred in twenty Fassbinder film and television productions, including his first feature, LOVE IS COLDER THAN DEATH (1969), his television miniseries BERLIN ALEXANDERPLATZ (1980), and his most autobiographical film, THE BITTER TEARS OF PETRA VON KANT (1972). She was interviewed at her home in Munich in June 2003.
