Directed by Joseph Pevney • 1955 • United States Starring Joan Crawford, Jeff Chandler, Jan Sterling
This steamy noir melodrama casts a fiery and glamorous Joan Crawford as a wealthy gambler’s widow who exchanges the neon lights and excitement of Vegas for the anticipated serenity of the isolated beach house that she leases sight unseen. Unfortunately she gets a lot more than she bargained for when she discovers that the house comes not only with a resident beach-bum gigolo (silver fox Jeff Chandler) but with a murder mystery as well. What really happened to the home’s previous tenant?
