Rade Serbedzija was born in Croatia to an ethnic Derbian family and became one of the most popular Yugoslav actors of the 1970s and ’80s. In 1993, during the war in the former Yugoslavia, he fled to London, where Milcho Manchevski tracked him down to star in BEFORE THE RAIN.
